# Barnet Says Declined But Pinpad Says Approved

**WHAT TO DO IF BARNET SCREEN REPORTS DECLINED AND KORT PIN PAD SHOWS APPROVED**

If a communication error occurs and you notice Barnet reports a ‘Declined’ payment attempt but the pin pad says ‘Approved’, DO NOT ASSUME IT IS APPROVED.

1. If the Barnet till screen has a pop up like the below offering a “Retry” option, press it. Do not worry, it is impossible for you to double charge the customer in this scenario. If the payment has been processed, the system will not let it process again.

2. If there is no “Retry” button but just a straightforward ‘Declined’ message, print a receipt directly on the pin pad. The pin pad may say something on the screen, but the actual printed receipt is physical proof. Check to see if the transaction was Approved or Declined.

* From the menu screen on your KORT pin pad from Hamburger, please go to: Options>Reprint receipt

* If it says ‘Approved’, keep a copy for your records and press “Manual” or “Mobile Pay” to settle the transaction in Barnet.
* If it says ‘Declined’, retry the payment.
